Taken in Sauwandarek Village, western part of Raja Ampat district, West Papua Province, Indonesia. We were sailing for around six to seven hours to reach the village from the Sorong Port in the mainland (Papua Island/New Guinea). The village is famous for having its beautiful corals surrounding the coastal area. Perfect for snorkeling just right in front of the houses of villagers. Majority of the villagers are practicing Christianity (Advent).
West Papua is home to some 245 ethnic groups that belong to different tribal peoples, each with its own language and culture. The Papuans tribes are known for their caring towards their children and praising the son and father’s relationship. Further information to travel to Papua-Indonesia can be read in this website .
